Temperature examples
Honeybees are terrific at keeping the temperature of the brood at 95 degrees Fahrenheit. This is called thermoregulation. They recruit ‘heater bees’ to warm the brood or they bring in water and use evaporation to cool the brood. When there is no brood, such as after the loss of the queen, they quit regulating and allow the temperature to track the outside temperature.
